Philosophy

It is desirable that the election/discernment process is not viewed as simply the will of the majority, but as a prayerful discernment process. Due to the principle of “Gift Led Autonomy” in leadership positions, this discernment is the primary expression of collegiality, as the community is giving their blessing on these individuals to exercise the full authority of their office.

Unity and Diversity: The principles of Unity and Diversity need to be strongly promoted prior to the elections.  The Concilium should be unified in Faith and Purpose. On the other side, the composition of the Concilium should be diverse. This diversity should by primarily in areas of gifting, but can also include considerations of ethnicity, age, gender, background, and locality.
